New fuel pump, filter, inertia switch, still wont start.

We went out to eat and when we left we went over a speed bump and the truck idle slow and rough and didn't respond to the gas pedal. So, we pushed it into a grocery store parking lot, change the fuel filter, nothing. Then we changed the fuel pump....still nothing. Then I held the button down on the inertia switch and it started, whenever I removed my finger from the button it died. So we used a C clamp to get us home. The truck sat for two weeks while I was working, I got home and put the new inertia switch on and now it wont start. So I bypassed the switch to see if I got a bad switch and still nothing. So I have a new fuel pump, filter, and inertia switch and the truck still wont start, anyone have any ideas? Oh, checked the fuse and relay as well, again those are fine.

Just had a similar problem. I bypassed the inertia switch. Also check the spark. I doubt it's the fuse able link. Did you continuosly try to start the car with low fuel ? Coulda burnt up the new pump. Lemme know what u find !

Hi, I have a 88, 2.9L. I had the same problem, come to find out after trying several things. It was my relay, one of the wires was not making a good connection going into the relay. After I jiggled the wires around I could hear the fuel pump kick on and pressurize the system. Hope this helps.

Sounds like distributor. Either the PCM module or the internal pickup. Providing you hear your fuel pump coming on
