Noise when accelerating

My ranger is making a noise when accelerating. The noise comes from underneath the truck close to the transfer case. It almost feels like there is something loose down there when I drive. The cab vibrates a little as well on the floor by the tranny. The noise is a grinding noise, not a whining noise. The transmission is a remanufactured transmission that was installed about 10k miles ago and I’ve had no problems with it. The engine runs smooth as well. Sometimes it feels like the driveshaft is rubbing against something but upon visual inspection there’s nothing close to touching it. I’ve had a mechanic look at it and he said that the only thing he can think of would be the U-Joints but he doesn’t believe that’s the problem.
