When turning the fan on you can her a kind of groaning sound coming from what sounds like the dash. Any answers would be appreciated. Thank you

Probably the fresh air vent opening or closing depending on your selection, noise would come from glove box area

There are 2 other Vacuum operated vents as well, this direct air flow, i.e. defrost, panel, or floor
These are "off" when selector is off, when you turn selector "on" then vacuum is sent to these vent doors to move them into position

Fresh air door is usually closed when system is off, then it opens when on, except for MAX AC then it closes again

noise is not coming from glovebox/blower motor area it is coming from beneath the radio. It also makes the noise when max ac getting turned on and when turning off

Fresh air vent, that's the only difference in MAX AC
Although could be blend door closing tighter, blocks off heater core
The heater by-pass valve is also closed in MAC AC, but that's in the engine bay so I doubt you could hear that in the cab
