please help no start after wreck

I hit a fire hydrant (preventing a bigger wreck also didn't see it either ) when I did my truck turn off .. once I got it back home I try to start it but there isn't a check engine light when you but the key in the on position . the battery light stays on even when key is pulled out it just dims . there is no crank no sound no nothing . I thought it was the inertia switch but it didn't trip it . engine looks to be fine didn't leak in fluid .just push the shaft driven fan into the radiator a little bit . I check fuses and relays what not just don't know what to do please help

2000 ford ranger xlt flex fuel super cab 3.0
ive had the battery disconnected the whole time . I even switch out the computer that was under the hood but I don't know for sure if it was good or bad .is there anything else that controls the engine ? that would make it not turn over ? like I said there is no check engine light when the key is in the on position .I have the front end off I don't know if that's a big deal or not ? the switch it pushed down I'm thinking about just connecting the 2 wires to bypass it .

There is a fuel shut off switch that shuts off the power to the fuel pump after a collision. On my 99 it is located behind the kick panel in front of the passenger door. Remove the kick panel and press down on the RED Reset button on the inertia switch. Should correct your problem.

CEL(check engine light) needs to come on with the key, if it doesn't then computer is not getting power so starter motor, spark and fuel would be off.

You do have disconnected wiring or blown fuses, probably near the engine fuse box.
It may not look damaged but it will have shifted in the sudden stop.

Battery light glowing with the key off means ignition switch under steering column may also have shifted or broke, that could also explain why turning key on does send power to computer.
