Alright, so when I am in park, or neutral, my truck won't let me rev the engine past 3000 rpms? It just bounces..whats the deal? When I drive it I can take it all the way up to about 5500 before it shifts and it doesn't bounce...Is there a chip I can take out or something? Just wondering if this is normal, thank you!

 

It is a neutral/park rev limiter. You don't need to rev it past 3000 and thats why its there...

 

Ok thats what I thought, I was just wondering...

 

^^^Its hard on a motor to "free wheel" it like that (not under load) so thats why they do it. It just helps prevent un-needed damage. Now, if you had a stick, there is no rev limiter. (well not until 6000 or so rpm, on my 4.0)

 

I don't wanna talk about it...haha..You have no idea how bad I wish I had gotten a stick :(...Thanks though, I appreciate it!
