been noticing a little bit of sputtering and loss of power while driving, then when i stop my rpm's drop to about 500 and it runs very rough. never had this happen in the [ast and i was curious as to what would cause this. no check engine light. motor has 142k on it and no problems, actually runs smooth. just some times it will start to sputter while crusing at about 2500 rpm's and lose some power, and idle at about 500 and run rough, then snap back and run fine. i am just a bit confused.
thr truck also has kind of a home made intake, i didn't know if that would affect anything
check the MAF sensor...my buddies f150 did exactly what yours is doing and he had a homemade intake and his MAF wasnt seated right and the oil from the filter caused it to go bad because he put too much oil on the filter
any tips on what to check on it or is it just so it's seated right. my maf didn't fit the adapter plate to put the intake on so i used epoxy to seal all the gaps, which weren't big at all.
if its not completely seated in the opening it will be giving false readings...also what kind of filter are you using?
hmm...thats weird you dont have a check engine light on with what your truck is doing...would make things so much easier lol
it would, see, the first time it did it it was after a long trip so i didn't think much of it. but yesterday was the 2nd time and i hadn't been driving too long. it threw a light a while ago for an o2 sensor but i was told that it wasn't a light for it being bad,, but running out of limits or something like that. i didn't know if it would be a problem. i disconnected the battery and cleared the code and it never came back
my 2001 ranger is doing the same thing with brand new plugs, wires and coil pack and its still misfiring should i also check the MAF? Where is it located within the truck and how do i check it?
MAF is right after the air filter on the intake tube...i think you test it by unplugging it while the truck is running and if it stays running the MAF is bad...not sure though
ok ill try it i will be right back i will keep you posted on the results thanks for the tip boss
ok im seeing three different electrical connections is the MAF connected to the throttle body?
alright disconnected the max airflow sensor and the truck stayed running lowered the idle RPM but it stayed on...should i check the fuel pressure regulator?

no that would be the throttle position sensor
it fluctuates. it bumps on the freeway at 2500 RPMs and rides pretty rough. the check engine light does blink and after 30 seconds it will stay solid. i hooked the truck up to my computer and i have two codes. 30202 and 30206. i fixed the misfires with a new coil and now there back again...should i try cleaning the throttle body? what would you suggest?
yes 3.0 V6. Now on my computer im reading a po113 code which is the intake air temperature sensor correct?
yes that is correct...also you might want to do a compression check on your engine because those heads are known to go bad
iat is a sensor usually in your air box or somewhere on your intake pipe. theres a net inside the mass air flow sensor make sure thats clean, throttle body cleaner or maf cleaner is what i use on it
how much are the heads to have replaced and what r some signs that they could be going
