Used Ranger Refurbishing

i bought my 00 ranger with 80k something miles on it ... and to make a long story short i got a ****ty deal and i bought it from a "joe schmoe" dealer because i was so into the fact it was a 5 speed and black with 4 doors... trans got stuck in gear which resulted in a few more serious repairs .. but anyway the point of this. is it a good idea to take it into one of those remanufactured transmission places or aamco .. i'm in orlando fl so i need something in the area ... i want to mod the truck as well as far as engine goes refurbish the whole engine spark plugs belts if needed wires alternator etc etc .... i'm wanting/thinking about swaping the engine for a 4.0 liter v6 instead of my current 3 liter even though i can definatly make it move... anyway any tips or suggestions would be great ... thanks in advanced people

it's worth it to take it to any tranny shop that will warranty their work. As far as an engine swap goes it makes everything easier if you have a full donnor vehicle to pull all wiring harness and other shizzle from.

do me a favor and make a signature with the specs of your truck please!

Yeah there's alot more to an engine swap than swapping engines, lol. It HAS been done, but you need a pretty strong mechanical and electrical background to go about something like that.
