It happened to be in the truck, if i had the choice i would want the same truck with a 2.3l. The 3L is gutless with very little aftermarket suport. The only reason its so reliable is because it doesnt make enough power to hurt itself.

You should do more research, theres a good bit of aftermarket support for the vulcan.

Yes but nothing like for the 2.3, or even the 4L. Pullys and headers just dont do it. Sure you can get a reground cam and whatnot, but even then your just getting to a stock ohv 4L. It all depends what you wanna spend. And there is very little suport for the 3L when comparing it to the 2.3 or 4L. On top of that for all the money you put into it for such little gains. I am happy with my 3L besides the lack of power, i beat the **** outta it and it just keeps going. But im not wasting my money on mods for it.

well...I have been criticized about the mods I have done because they are nothing but a money pit... but I am getting better gas mileage, better power... and I can give an 08 4.0 reg cab 5speed auto, a good run... but Im going to drive this engine into the ground... then hello v8 if we still use gasoline by that time... but you can still turbo and supercharge these suckers and get some good power out of them... ofcourse it wont be as fast as a 2.3T... these engines were the workhorse the 4.0 was for those who wanted fun and excitement and the 2.3 was for the economy crowd.. that is if you are keeping the truck stock... almost like how Lincoln, and mercury were for the upper class and the fords were for the lower working class.

but overall the mods have changed my truck dramatically and I love it
