Oil Change ReSet

I have a 2019 Ford Ranger XLT. I did 1st oil change after 2000 miles but could never figure how to get the "time to change Oil" message to go away. So I gave up on it and then it went away on it's own for awhile. Now it's back again for 3 weeks now. I looked in the manual and it says to push the Settings icon on the steering wheel and then push the right arrow button to scroll to Vehicle. Mine doesn't get to Vehicle. What am I missing?

I don't have an answer for you, but it's still under warranty, why not just ask your dealer ?
Why come to a forum with a new truck ?

Go here and get your 2019 Owners Manual: https://www.therangerstation.com/manuals/

Page 248 tells you how to reset after Oil Change

Over the yrs I've learned to avoid the Dealer as much as possible, seems they always want me to do something that cost me for fluids etc. I change my own oil etc. But I may have to go there anyhow since the truck readout does not have what the manual is saying.

I have a hardcopy Manual that came with the Truck, it says the same thing but on Page 259. But my truck readout doesn't give any "Oil Life" listing in Vehicle. On mine I goto Settings->Vehicle, inside there are two choices,
(1) Camera Settings
(2) Onboard Modem Serial Num
That's it, nothing else.
--My truck has Sync3 firmware version 3.3, Build 19052
I have the truck parked near my Home Wifi and have the truck logged into my Wifi with pswd etc. I also checked to see the truck as part of the Wifi device listings when I log into my Wifi Router, so I know the truck has access to the internet when parked near. (I don't pay the Ford monthly onboard modem fees)
Today while logged onto my wifi I checked for updates of the Sync3. When I click on Check for Updates, it pauses for a bit and then exits back with no message what so ever.
I guess I will have to call the dealer about the oil reset and make a special trip to their place. I like the Truck but that's amazing that there's no way to get rid of the message. The only other negative with this truck was the foo barred backseat latch issue that many new Rangers have. I fixed that on my own with a 1/4" gusset padding rather than let the dealer remove the rubber pads therein letting the seat hit the body directly in order to latch.

If the manual doesn't cover the correct oil reset for your model then the Ford Dealer will be able to print out a "supplement" or will have a hard copy already printed for your model
Have VIN handy

You can also check Ford website for supplements or addendums for 2019 owners manuals, owners manuals are printed at least a year before release of a model so there are always "additions" made just before and just after release of a model
You might look at a 2020 Ranger owners manual as well, it might have the addition/changes made since 2019 release

Thanks again for your input. I went back out and kept pushing different arrow buttons on the left side of the Steering wheel and was able to finally reset my Oil chg display.
My problem was I've always kept the Dash display in the Fuel Mileage and have no experience at moving around with the steering wheel (left side) arrow buttons. And pushing the right arrow of the steering wheel was not getting to where I needed for Oil Reset. Evidently in my frustration I was then pushing the Settings button on the right side of the steering wheel which didn't either.
But I finally figured it out, apparently (if I got it right)
You hit the left arrow to back out of any current menu.
You hit the up or down arrows to move thru any current menu.
And you hit the right arrow to enter a sub-menu.

Holy Cow !
At the risk of being an *** hole, it would be easier just to remember to change the oil on my own rather then to learn all that.
New vehicles are needlessly too complicated !

Lol, yes I agree, it's a menu-less point and click world now and changing rapidly in real time. I'm retired old school and hate much of this new technology. It kills me when they talk about AI being able to drive cars. Yea till the next sensor wears out and it crashes.

Good stuff, reads like instruction manuals for stereos written by someone who never had one, lol

Self Driving cars, even with a bad sensors, would be better than any human driving
Been driving for 45+ years now, and know what I have seen on the road, and it ain't good, can't wait for self drive

Lol, late checking my email, just a matter of viewpoint I guess. I'm old school admittedly, been driving for 52+ yrs including a yr trailer transport on slick clay mountain roads of Vietnam in 70. I understand what you mean though about human driving and it's worse now with so many heads stuck in their phone. Apprehensive about AI sensor fail possibilities but would concede drivers with heads in phones are more fail prone than AI. But would rather good drivers to AI. Additionally when I used to ride newer motorcycles I hated the brake over rides as it caused operator issues in other scenarios.
AI is in it's growing stages and the death rate is still low now comparatively (even with the Boeing incidents). But as delivery and taxi vehicles grow in number there will be more times for sensor failure. As for manuals . . . well many (if not most) of them now days are written by Language AI and have no contextual or decent index that I get exhausted with them. But I do read them as much as I can find what I'm looking for. But thanks again to the forum help.

For the last 20 years I have joined a Forum or several Forums for every used or new vehicle I have owned. I joined this Forum for my sister who bought a rusted (from Ohio) piece of crap 2003 Ranger. After a couple of years she bought a new 2020 Ranger 4X4, 4 door. No one wants to go the the dealer for something they can fix themselves. You learn how to do things like this from Forums :). If the Thread Starter didn't reset the oil change warning light, it would be lit in the display all the time while driving :(
