Icon8 02 Ranger with Flowmaster 40 series

I have an 02 Ranger with a Flowmaster Original 40 on it (Si/Do). Ever since I put it on a couple 3 months ago, it wont rev over 3000 rpm's in neutral or park. Did the place where I had the pipes bent and welded and installed do something wrong? Is there anything I can do to fix this? Thanks.

if you buy a tuner i believe you can reset the rev limiter but you dont need to

AS said above that's a factory setting so you don't blow your engine doing what your doing.

REV LIMITER, everyone has one, I hate it, and I hate the speedlimiter too, but I learned a trick yesterday, if your goin down a hill you can go faster, yeah I know yall are like duh, but I gunned it and was wonder what my chip would hit at, this time (its usually around 96 or 97) and I hit 100 man I was so excited, I wish the programmers weren't som damn high though $$$!!!

In Park(and possibly Neutral), An automatic truck is electronically limited to the rpms it'll turn. It's covered in an earlier post. I do have a rev limiter(I have a manul), but it's at like 6200 rpm....feels alot like when your driving at 92....it's limited.

Not to pick on Tyler.. but this kind of mind set is troubling to me.

A guy does a "mod" and then draws completely unrelated conclusions as to the cause.

This is the very reason why professional mechanics have a tendancy to develop attitudes and charge high rates. They get blamed for things that have nothing to do with anything they did.

Instead of pointing fingers and blame. Take the time & thoughtfulness to be humble and examine why things are the way they are.

And just remember.. when you point the finger of blame there are at least three fingers pointed back at ya.

they wont rev over that to keep from over heating because when your in park or neutral there is no wind keeping your **** cool.

Kind of off the topic a little. But I have a 4.0L 5speed. What exhust would sound the best? I want loud but not too loud the cops will be writing me tickets. And I want it to sound good.

Thanks.

By the way mine will rev all the way up. It dont stop. But the truck wont go past 100mph. Kinda weird.
