4.0 Clutch Replacement Cost
4.0 Clutch Replacement Cost
I'ts been a couple of years since I had the ford dealership replace the clutch in my truck. It's slipping again to the point where it needs to be towed. I had it towed to the ford dealer, they quoted me $1300 for a clutch replacement. It's an 03 4.0 4wd with about 160k miles. That sounded a bit ridiculous so I will shop around tomorrow, but what is an average price I should be hearing?
Thanks guys!
Thanks guys!
Not a 4.0 but a 3.0 4x4. I got quoted $600 flat for new clutch, slave and flywheel resurfaced. I just replaced my master so thats not included. But I am in Mississippi, things cheaper down here.
i just did mine last weekend in my 05 4.0L 4x4. with my parts discounts through my shop i was still almost $700 in parts. that includes clutch, slave, master, trans fluid, and flywheel resurfacing i got done free. i broke a lot of bolts taking it apart. steel bolts in aluminum really suck. i could easily see this job getting expensive in a hurry at a dealer
