time for the tune up.. parts!
Ok i am new to this forum and i would just like to give yall the props.. you guys are the best people of the best forum on the web. Everyone else is biased.
So i own 2002 ranger 4.0l sohc 4x4 and i am going to be doing a tuneup soon. I am just wondering what i should get for this. I am thinking:
Plugs, which ones do yall recommend
wires, which ones should i get
air filter
oil, castrol syntec or whatever yall recommend
oil filter
Thats all i am thinking. I just replaced the fuel filter and pcv valve about 5-7k miles ago. My truck gets terrible milage, about 13 average. about 75% city 25 highway. I always keep up with oil maintenance . Every 3k. If yall know anything else i should get please tell me. I am going to do this all myself so my limit is about 80 bucks. I just changed my oil so i might just gather up all the parts now and wait for 2k miles and change everything. Dont include oil with this budget.
Thanks, abel

I am not going to change the pcv valve or fuel filter since i just changed those. I am thing new plugs and wire, a good seafoaming before i change the plugs, clean the maf, new air filter, maybe change my rear differential oil. idk i just hope i get better than 200 miles a tank!

I use Champion plugs in everything i own. i've never had a problem with them. pulled them out of my truck to check them once after about two years and they were still looking good.
and i use Shell ATF in the tranny. along with unknown watered down substance in the rear end, the seals and the fluid are getting changed this weekend. probably gonna go Mobil.

It always amazes me people run 100000 miles on Ford plugs and wires before a tuneup then think they can find something better and more reliable the Motorcraft. Like Ford doesnt know anything. sorry for the rant, I take autozone crap out all day and put Motorcraft in and fix misses customers caused.
