my old man has a 2008 taco 4.0L 6spd manual 4x4 ext cab. i have raced a stock 4.0L ranger 4x4 and i won. the taco's are very quick. i wont race my dad with my ranger with the 35's because i would lose hard. 4.0L tacos shut down at 115mph. so unless you have a tune with a speedlimiter removed they will walk you on the highway as well.

 

some prerunners and 4wds either shut down at both 108, or 115. xrunners shut down at 124.

 

all faster then a stock rangers shut down.

 

4.0 taco > 4.0 ranger

 

i raced one and beat it. but it has a big lift and 35's. 4 door. 4wd etc.
also completely stock as far as tune/intake/exhaust goes.
i've got a tune that helps a lot.
i didnt beat him too bad, but i'd say a car length.

idk if it helps compare. but i raced a hemi ram on a freeway onramp. and the front of my fender was at his rear fender by 80.
