Does anybody know how hard and what I'll need or need to do to do a 5.0 swap in a 02 ranger edge 4x4 I have the 4.0 sohc in the truck now and what trans will I need or will my 5r55e bolt up and work with the 5.0

 

Can buy whole truck for $500 motor and tranny are in 90s f150 ill have everything to do swap

 

No, 4.0l V6 transmission won't work with V8

The 1996 to 2001 V8 Explorers are what you need to get "most" of the parts needed

F-150 5.0l V8s can be used but the intakes were too high so you will need to find an explorer V8 intake

In either case you usually will need a different oil pan and also need to buy an remote oil filter setup

If you go to a carb distributor setup, no computer, you can do the older V8 swaps easier
