gas light?
gas light?
Might be a stupid question but here goes:
I am just wondering if anyone knows for sure if my truck has a low fuel light? I keep trying to find out but chicken out in fear of being stuck on the side of the road.
Thanks

Not sure on a 97 but on my 03 if you get too low you get the 'CHECK GAGE' light. You could have a burned out bulb or a number of other things. Also the Ranger fuel gauges are anything but accurate, so you may have more fuel than you think.
On my 97 it says Check Gauge. I drove around for a day with the light on before I filled up. And it actually depends on what type of incline you are on whether or not it will pop on. I've had mine come on and go off within a few minutes once.

And yes my light does work.

Fuel Empty light!
Empty light!?
Nope there is none! I own and daily a 1995 ford ranger xlt 2.3l with a 5 speed manual. There is no warning light informing you that your on empty! Make sure you fill up when your a quarter away from empty to avoid being stranded and carry a gas can.
