installed aem brute force intake

I just finished installing my AEM Brute Force Air Intake. Install was pretty basic. I'll post results of my mileage up as well as a power difference once i drive it a little more.

And yes I know the engine bay needs a good cleaning lol.

What's that rubber gasket looking thingy on the top of the heat shield for? I got one with my K&N, but it wouldn't stay on so I tossed it. Was that bad?

i think the rubber thing is just a seal when the hood is closed its probably touching it just to keep the hot air from getting in.

Oooh, I should probably try to get that thing back on then. Kinda defeats the concept of "cold air intake" if it's getting hot air.

Actually its been proven the so cold Cold air kits for the 4.0 run about 10-11 degrees hotter then the stock counterpart. However they do also show an increase in horsepower too!

nothing incredible. it's a little bit louder (deeper) and a little more pick up in the high rpms but nothing major. also it looks like my gas mileage is going to be about the same as it was before i put it on.

yea...thats all i've heard about the after-market intake kits...might as well just buy a drop in k&n filter...but yea dude once you clean out that bay you'll prolly get at least 2 mpg better mileage b/c the weight of the vehicle has been reduced..hahahahahah...*knee slapper

well see the thing about the intake kits, is that once you get a nice exhaust, you should notice a difference with both of them on there, its one of those things like an engine. theres no point in shoving more air in with out letting it leave just as fast! but i like the fit mit looks good.
