its not a matter of power guys. gearing is what its all about in my little world.

it has to do with the amount of aftermarket availability.. getting custom one off adapters and crap gets expensive. i would rather have a trans i could just bolt a number of t-cases to.

So you want to build something "different" yet you want to run the 4.0 b/c of the aftermarket.......just give in to the Legend....

finals are this week so I'll finally have time to get a quote on that shaft if you still want it! I know, it's been forever...

We have had 2 jeep wranglers at work with the 258, they both ran great. Just as good on gas too. Just pulled out 2 20' pine trees with our 2000 yesterday! I can take pics if someone is interested.

Its just a motor, I think its dumb when people believe it makes a difference who made the motor.

For a I6 I would stay ford. The 4.9 beats the jeep hands down, plus runs SBF trans/tcase

Matt, I went by txpro4x4 to see if they had an ac compressor for an inline jeep 6. They had a motor they just pulled out, but couldn;t find the compressor. If they pulled it for a v8 swap the engine may be available.

I ended up getting the compressor from savages (towards copperas cove from my house). It was pulled off a cherokee that just came in. The engine is complete, but has 178,000 miles on it. I saw one other cherokee there. Didn;t look at it though.

i don't have money now, but i know when i get money i should be able to find a jeep drive line with NO issues.. everyone pulls them out for V8s.

I would love to pick up a Rubicon drive line.. 4.0/6 speed manual/4:1 in the tcase.
