Part Identification
Part Identification
Need some help identifying a part. It appears to be connected to the coolant lines comeing from the heater core. Haynes was no help in figuring it out (no suprise). Its pissing out coolant when my truck warms up. Any idears?
Heater Control Valve, sometimes called a Diverter Valve. It it shuts off and bypasses coolant flow from the heater core when the selector is in the OFF or MAX AC position.
Ford OE replacements last about 10 years. Cheapies from AutoZone, etc. often last a year or less before leaking again.

All Rangers in recent memory do that. Try selecting Vent Only, Floor Only or Off to keep the compressor off.
