My truck has 124000 on it and it has the timing chain rattle. it just got worse something rattles at idle not a knock it sounds like a clang noise like a pulley so i changed the idler and tensioner and took belts off and ran it because i still had the noise. its from the front of the motor too. anyone have this problem? im about to trade it in im scared its the timing chain.

 

What oil and filter are you using?

 

motorcraft 5w30 and fl820s motorcraft filter

 

Not that then. You may need a new chain. Not worth getting rid of the truck though.
