Starter Motor Staying engaged

1992 Ford Ranger 4.0 V6 Starter motor is staying engaged when I start up the truck. When I disconnect the wire on the small post on the relay (shown down below) the starter turns off and the truck runs fine. My vote is for a new ignition switch but curious on what you guys think

Brand new starter and starter relay.

There's something sticking ON for sure. Either the switch or the contacts in your 'new' starter solenoid.

yes if I put the wire back on the post while the engine is running it turns on the starter motor again.

ch the red one the one with the cap on it. I think it comes from the ignition switch. it should only be hot when you try and start with the key.

Test it while the engine is running?

No, just have the key in the run position, there should be no voltage to that small wire.

ok. I'd start over. hook it all back up. start motor and make sure the key in in run position. if the starter is going first check if the sm red wire is hot 12v. if it is its the ignition switch. if not hot its the solenoid or the bendex on the starter is stucki. also where does the big red wire on the left side of the solenoid go?

The wire on the left side of the relay goes to the battery

Welp I'm stumped. All the things I've replaced. Don't know what else it could be

Positive battery cable (Had to be replaced no matter what)
Starter Motor
Starter Relay
Ignition switch

You removed your picture.

The solenoid , The big wire that goes to the starter should be the only wire on that stud

The small wire with the red plug should go to the small stud marked with a "S"

All the other wires with a big terminal should go to the same stud that the battery connects to.

It all is and I'm not sure why the picture was removed

Post another picture of the solenoid or you call it relay with the wiring.

When I pull off the wire that goes to the starter on the right post the starter turns off.
