I don't think the solenoid/relay is bad, because it did this with the first one.

I really think there is a wire hooked up to something that it shouldn't be.
gonna try to make this a little easier on where the wires are going

Is this the only wire that goes to the small terminal on the Starter?

Alright thanks I’ll pull the starter sometime to fully confirm nothings touching each other but from what I can see everything looks fine and it doesn’t just start spinning when I connect the battery

ok so if all is wired correctly you say when you remove the wire from the relay that goes to the starter the starter will stop running. check the S wire like in the diagram its shows it going to the battery from the relay.

just thinking. what happens if you take off the off the small center red cap wire on the starter relay when the motor and starter are running. if the starter stops it should mean that the problem is in the key switch or wiring. if it keep running I would think its in the relay or starter. sorry this is the best I can do with out being there.

ok that means for some reason the relay won't turn off or the starter is stuck. the key switch and wiring should be good. look into how to test the relay. I'll look later.

I read this entire thread and I think the problem is a stuck bendix/selonoid. If the shaft in the starter gets dirt or rust on it the arm will stick with the selonoid on. Just remove the starter and clean the shaft of ALL grease and dirt. It should be clean with no grease /oil on it......maybe just a thin film of oil to prevent rust....maybe. It will also atract dirt! With the engine running and the starter running, you can try banging on the solenoid with a hammer and it MIGHT free it up.

so test the starter out of the truck with a pair of jumper to see what happens ?

New doesn’t mean it works, there’s lots of junk out there now. Good job happy you figured it out!
