Wanting to swap...

I want to swap a 4.0L for my 3.0 dual fuel. I want more power for the bigger tires i am going to be putting on my truck (2003 Edge, 2x4). I have a 5-speed and wondering what i will have to replace and what i can keep.

the 3.0 should mate up with your 4.0 tranny alright. The 4.0s dont work so well with the 3.0 trannys because the 4.0 tranny is a little beefier. As far as the fuel system, I think you will probably want to get as much of it from the donor vehicle as you can. Beyond that, I don't really know...

Why would you want to do that anyways? They both get the same gas mileage.

Yea, there is nothing wrong with the 3.0 pushing big tires. you will spend more money swapping the 4.0 in because you will need wiring harness, tranny, the whole motor. It won't be cheap.

Might as well spend dome money on bolt-ons and get almost the same hp as a stcok 4.0 for a lot cheaper.

My 3.0 pushed 33's easily with a few add-on's like intake, exhaust, programmer and still got damn good gas mileage.
