I知 trying to figure out if there is 2wd automatic transmission that will mount up to a 2000 Ford Explorer 5.0 engine to use in a ford ranger swap or can I just use the awd trans that comes with it and take out the shaft running to the front. Need answers asap

 

From what I've read, the AWD trans without the shafts are an option. I've also heard that a manual from a 2wd 4.2 V6 F150 will fit. NOT sure if ford put a 2wd auto behind that motor, probably very rare, if they did. Also maybe a transmission from a 5.0 mustang, but I think the shifter is in a weird position for the ranger.
