antenna adapter...

I'm getting ready to pull my factory cd/cass in my 99 Ranger for a Pioneer CD deck. I've purchased the deck, mount kit, and wiring harness. Will I need an antenna adapter as well? I know I did when I had my s10. Just unsure with the Ranger.

I don't think so. I've never actually seen a headunit that required one come to think of it.....

You should be alright. I've seen people use extensions before for some extra length, and adaptors and more commonly used if you replace your antenna with a complete generic aftermarket one with the cable. The stock radio on my dads old 94 B2000 used a stock adaptor to connect the am/fm radio to the antenna cable.

Like I said I know my 93 GMC Sonoma did but its GM and I didnt need one on my old 94 Explorer. When I purchased the wiring harness it said not to forget the antenna adapter. I'll just play it by ear when I have the deck in hand and out of the dash.

On all the Ford vehicles I've worked on, 01 Mustang, 04 Ranger and 06 150 I didn't need a adapter for the antenna
