center channel speakers
so i was just lookin around last night and finally saw what he center channel speakers look like (from alpine) single DIN with a very small pair of speakers and tweeters in there. how difficult would it be to mount the center channel speaker plate and a single DIN H/U? are there brackets out there that is for 2 single DIN units? or will i have to make something

Scoche has a dual din bracket:

You do have to file down the opening for the stereo in the bezel.
Do a search on double din. A few people here have done it to their trucks.

its not avalible til april. but im going to wait until Custom Sounds Texas Heatwave car show in Austin, Tx since they will have all sorts of stuff for sale for REAL CHEAP. the 400dollar Focal compoents were goin for about 225. JL w7s were going for about 1-200 cheaper than retail if i remember right.
but im probally going to build an all alpine system.
with the center channel speaker, would it take Channel 3 and 4 on a 4ch amp? or just Ch. 3?
i saw that H/U last night and fell in love with it ha

hmm. now i need to find another use for the 4th channel on the amp since im only going to run front components.
if i ran a set of 5 1/4 coax together to bring it down to 2ohm, would that hurt the amp or speakers at all? or should i just say screw it and only run the 3 channels?
or an extra set of tweeters in the pillers off 1 channel?

I dont think it will hurt anything but you will only get one side of the music if you run it like that. Some songs play different instruments between left and right and also you will lose all audio if the music shift to one side. If your not running rears, some component systems let you power the mid speaker separate from the tweeter through the same crossover.

I dont know if you want to spend that much.
If you put an extra set of tweeters, the highs might be too rich and it will annoy the hell out of you.

See im like wierd with stuff i buy. I would pay for those but only when its safe to (money wise). I like to have nice things.
Well good luck with the system. Post some pics when its done. Im curious to see how a center channel speaker and head unit look in a ranger.
Where you putting the center? I was going to put mine on the top.
