Finally built new box (pics)

This time, I made one box and put it on the passenger side so I would have more leg room. I used 3/4" MDF this time. Its right around 1.00 of airspace, which is the max for the sealed box specs for the kicker sub. I cant believe how much deeper it hits now. It is also LOUD. 1 10 is definantly enough. Now I just need to carpet it and finish it up.

Sometimes I wonder just how much power these subs can handle. The RMS power for the 12" L5 is 600w. I have close to 650wrms to my 12" and it seems to gobble it up and ask for more.

I have a mild case of buyers remorse with my Alpine MRD-M605; I wouldn't mind having that Kicker ZX750.1 you have on your 10" L5. I know the prices were very similar between the M605 and the ZX750; the only reason I didn't pick up the Kicker was because I knew they pump out ~900wrms. If I could do it again, I'd have gotten the ZX750 and adjusted the gains responsibly.

But oh well.

Nice set-up you have there. I wonder how the 10" L5 on that ZX750 sounds in comparison to my 12" L5 on the M605.

Bet it's plenty loud in that single cab!

Ok, so I guess no bass with the seat in it's back position? If you have no grill then just put a ledge onto the box. That way the passenger seat will not come into contact with the sub during excursion, and the seat will also help to hold the box in place for a better sound.

The box is the same depth as my old box that was on the drivers side, so yea, the passenger will have as much leg room as I had on the drivers side before changing boxes.

I have the seat adjusted so that the sub wont touch the seat.

I'll try to get pics soon, but on the drivers side, you can adjust the seat pretty far back and lean the seat back all the way against the back glass.

Try going with fiberglass, me and a buddy of mine were able to fit two l7 10's in a single cab. we only had to move both seats up one notch which left plenty of leg room. Ill try to get some pictures up of his truck as soon as i can but until then hers some pics of other boxes ive made.
its a lot easer than it looks, and im 16. Heres where i learnt how to build them, its a great site.. http://www.the12volt.com/installbay/...TID~74519~PN~1
