Help: Can't put CD6 in shipment mode...

Hey guys...

I sold my CD6 on eBay and am trying to put the deck in shipment mode by follwing the directions here....

CAUTION: The 6-compact disc (CD) audio unit must be placed in shipment mode anytime the audio unit is removed (including for diagnostic purposes). Failure to follow this instruction may result in damage to the audio unit.

NOTE: This procedure applies to the CD6 and TREMOR audio units.

Turn the audio unit on and eject any CDs loaded in the audio unit.
Turn the key to OFF.
Press and hold presets 2 and 5, simultaneously.
While holding the presets, turn the key to ACC or RUN.
The audio display will flash SHIPMENT.
When the CD tray has parked, the audio unit will display SHIPMENT ON.
Turn the key to OFF.
Remove the audio unit. For additional information, refer to Section 415-01 .
Exiting Shipment Mode

NOTE: If the audio unit is removed, install the audio unit before beginning this procedure.

Turn the key to ACC or RUN.
Turn the audio unit on.
Press and hold the LOAD button for approximately 2 seconds.
The audio unit will enter loading mode, at which time the shipment mode will be exited.
Turn the audio unit off.

Problem is, it will not go into shipment mode. Anyone have any ideas why it would not?

It came from my 03 model, does not have mp3 support or aux.

Thanks!

Oops, there is a shipment mode? I sold mine on e-bay years ago and guess I got lucky and UPS didn't play rugby with my package.

Redneckstone: I thought I went exactly as the instructions mapped out, even tried it again...no luck.

Mnemonic: lol...guess I'll just have to pack it extra well..

I sold two, never put them in shipment mode. Just make sure to package them really, really good. Both mine made it there just fine. Sent them from Ohio to Georgia and New Mexico. no problems.

I bought mine from a guy on this forum and he didn't put it into shipment mode. At first the changer unit didn't want to work but I kept messing with it and it started working fine.

I have never heard of that before. I wonder how many other radios I was supposed to do this on.
