thats a but overkill haha
im running a jl 250 watt amp and it works perfect
and i'm not even running a second amp but i really should. my alpine puts out just barely enough power for the speakers. but i went for more sq anyways so meh. second amp would be good if you wanna crank it

that costs what my whole system did! wtf!
$1,900 for a sub that can only handle 1,000w RMS? Fvck that!

from what I'm hearing, Fi's subwoofers are pretty up there, maybe top of the line..
You can even customize them online. I would get one if I had a few hundred, but til then, I'll stick to kicker.

He isn't talking about like china ebay crap, he's talking about brands that only people that are into car audio are familiar with. JL is beyond overpriced for what it is, there is MUCHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH better for MUCHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH less money.

Its all about what I can get my hands on...Ive never had matching systems

examples:
visonik amp/ diamond 10"s/sony HU
alpine HU/kicker/fosgate 12"
Kenwood HU/kicker amp/DEI 15"s/alpines in my kick panels

Its all about what I can get a deal on when I have cash in hand. That visonik was trash, but the diamond sub pounded. The fosgate was trash, but the alpine HU was probably my favorite one yet, and the DEI's are my favorite subs, but I cant find 2 more of them, so Imma have to buy 4 matching subs when I upgrade...Looks like the best deal imma get is my buddy's CVRs out of his mustang since he will be upgrading before he drives it again next summer.

Think he said he would sell both to me for $100, but then Id have to find 2 more. We shall see what happens when I have money to mess with it.

Kicker 10" L7 in kicker box installed today 9/8/2010. The amp I chose to run is a 200W Alpine V12 bridged. The single cab is bumpin hard enough.

i feel outdated with the system i had in my golf. 2 years ago. it was a rockford 120 punch amp and a 10" pioneer sub. i liked it. it sounded good to me. no buzzing, no distortion, just that extra little kick when it was needed.

i have kicker 750.1 amp and 2 l7 8's in a ported box,i have all my sub settings on my radio at 0 and my gain only half up and they slam pretty hard.i need to amplify my door speakers now since the subs totally drown them out.as far as brand name and non name brand speakers, who really gives a ****.whats good and not good for the most part is in the eye of the beholder.i like a lil bit of both.i had this kicker argument before.i have ran kicker in every car i have owned the past 14 years except one and never had an issue and i have owned brand new and used products.of course some of their **** can be faulty it happens with every single brand of anything out there.to be real all it takes is one bad experience to turn you away from something.anyway, maybe some of you should consider some 8's.sundowns are good, kicker l7's have been fine for me and if i hadnt done kicker i woulda went with dd's.dd's are brutal.

ok i guess im only one of a few that are bass heads with reg cabs, i had a kicker 10" cvx in the pre loaded ported box running off of the kicker 750.1 then ditched the kicker for more lows and built a box for 2 rockford 15"s and had it running off of the 750 for a while with hifonics 3 ways in the doors and infinity componets in kick pannels and had a bad *** system! then i got a samurai so i stripped out the amp and components and now its running the whole system off of my alpine 600x4 and still vibes louder then people with 3xs the power =D

but this is a picture of my 15s after i built the box for it

Ok Ladies, can we have less arguments about which brand is better, and more pics of actual installs?
