My first attempt at wheel polishing

Most know I need a set of wheels for my 99 and have been looking for a good deal. I had an extra set of these setting around so I thought I would experiment. I took the worst wheel and stripped the clear and went at it. I am still not sure I want to use these though, may be for sale soon...

Probably about 2 hrs. It takes a long time to get the clear off.

Correction, it was bix stripper I used. Yeah it actually looks better out in the sun but I figured I'd get glare on the picture. I still have the other three to do but probably not today.

Looks good, you can buy clear coat specifically made for rims in a spray can at auto zone, etc. Its a special blend that is suppost to turn much harder than normal clear.

Yeah I agree. Looks pretty good. I'd slap some clear coat on them pretty quick.

Yeah after days off work I have them all polished, I am going to use them on my 94. I am going to clear them but now I have to do some work in all the little windows first. The stripper messed up the gray inside of them. Not sure how picky I am going to be with them I already have alot of time into them.
