What kind of soap to use on engine?
Going to clean the engine and some mudd up underneathe my truck before the lifts comes on tomarrow. Is there any specific soap to use for the engine or no. Yes i know all bout covering up the spark plugs and soo on .Just wondering?
simple green automotive is awesome, and has a piney(sp) type smell as well.
i agree with some type of deoderizer. i used to play in construction sites, and some of the fill dirt and stuff they use smells so horrible. and it sticks to your truck like no other.
since im lowerin tomorrow, i think its a good time to hit the whole truck with the pressure washer!!

Actually, I was joking about "deoderant soap" (thinking like Lifebuoy or Irish Spring or something, lol) -- but you have a point. I bet the OrangeBlast leaves it smelling citrus-y fresh!
Next, we just have to get me to smell better...

I blast mine monthly. I put simple green in my mr clean auto dry and suds it up. Let it sit for a while then rinse it. After it's dry I go back with simple green in a windex bottle and power blast (squirt squirt) the areas that are still dirty. I just spray those little areas hard with the windex bottle like a mini pressure washer. I like the smell.
The only time I have had trouble was with an aerosal citrus cleaner on a 3.0. I got the belt squeek real bad after using it. It wouldn't go away until I swapped belts.

I just use the Engine/Tire cleaner setting at a local 24/7 car wash. It's Engine safe, and having a pressure washer shoot it out works wonders, my engine looks new. I just dont clean near the Optima, and near the intake.
