Adapt Powerstroke 7.3 tranny to fit M5ODR1 based duratec

I have this powerstroke diesel tranny laying in the yard not rusted out it's covered up, but was curious if there's an adapter plate and if I can mount the duratec 2.3 to it, I understand if welding is needed, money is not an issue

No there won't be an adapter plate, but you can build an adapter or hire it built

I assume you mean Manual trans, auto wouldn't have a chance at all because of computer control

The ZF manual transmissions are pretty big, you would need to size clutch for the 2.3l but use ZF parts
Starter motor will be a big hurdle to tackle with the adapter plate
That's where flywheel size comes in, along with clutch size

The shifter look pretty far forward but custom shift arm can be made

Driveline will be custom but not that hard to build/adapt

And I assume also this is 2WD since its a 2.3l Duratec

Not sure the final outcome would be worth the cost,

I think Mazda made a 6-speed manual for rear wheel drive and they used the 2.3l duratec, its a 2.3l Mazda L engine, so it would bolt right up
Not 100% sure but if so sell the ZF and buy one of these

Yes the manual 5 speed powerstroke tranny, the Mazda L and 2.3 duratec are the same engine (I have the 16V 2.3 2260CC)

The swap will be done on my own time and no cost for swap, just need to buy the tranny, and possibly adjust shaft, it's just a dog on the freeway uphill at 75 4.10 axle

No, 6 speed manual was never used in Ranger or B-series

What vehicle used a rear wheel drive Mazda 6 speed, are there any after market 6 speed transmissions that could be used aside from the massive 10R80 used with the ecoboost 2.3 (turbo tuned Mazda duratec 2.3)(ford now owns the rights to mass build and design Mazda 6 and 4 cylnder engines under Ford branding without need to pay Mazda)

I do plan to lightly tune and charge my Mazda, has the forged internals and AlSi head, the Piston plates themselves are cast but the conrod and everything else is forged, gonna swap out the cams for new OEM cams or disi VVT cams
