Ranger Protocol OBD II

Hey guys,

Wondering if anyone knew the protocol for the OBD II on a 2004 Ford Ranger 2.3l.

This weekend i tried to scan it with a ELM 327 and the Vehicle Response could not connect. I didin't know if anyone else has tried anything or should i get another code reader?

Any help would be great, thanks.

Hi there, I'm not sure if you're still looking, but I found your car's obd if you're still looking for it:

I've run the ELM Scan adapter on my 97 2.3 and have had good luck with it. It should just install a general usb-serial driver and set a COM port. Have you verified that the COM port # in the obd software matches the port # in Windows device manager? I'll try to look also and see if I can remember if the baud settings had to be changed.

HA, just saw the age of this zombie thread, apparently revived by the spam account, my bad
