2003 ford ranger xlt transmission problems
I have a 2003 ford ranger xlt 4×4 4.0L and it goes into reverse perfectly with no problems but it does not go in to drive or 1 or 2 gear. If I rev it up and let it ideal back down multiple times it may kick in to gear but it normally takes 30 to 45 minutes and it jurks hard in to gear. It's a adamatic transmission

Welcome to the forum
You have a 5R55E automatic in a 2003 Ranger 4.0l, 4x4 version which are different than 2WD version
Having Reverse but no forward gear means transmission will need to come out for repair, not a solenoid or valve body issue, or fluid issue
What the problem is can only be found on disassembly
When you drain the fluid and pull off the pan look for metal bits, confirms transmission must be pulled out
