94 4x4 4.0 Ranger Delays shifting
Hey guys I've had this Ranger 4x4 4.0 for a little over a month and now that its getting cold i'm having problems with it shifting into drive from reverse out of the driveway. The colder it gets the longer it takes to shift into drive. Sometimes it takes 5-8 seconds before it will shift into drive. This is only upon the initial startup when everythings cold. I've done some searching and people with the shift delay problem are having other problems as well.
The only other problem i'm having with the transmission is that it likes to shift pretty hard sometimes. But other than that it shifts where it should and when it should, sometimes it wants to downshift too early if i barely accelerate but it doesnt ever slip.
The Transmission fluid is very clean and fresh. I'm betting its been changed in the past year. The truck has 125k and i've been told that the tranny was replaced 4 years ago. Is it a solenoid, a seal? Something easy to fix?
