The 4x4 Low doesnt work.

My 4x4 low doesnt work after i use the 4x4 high there is a high pitched noise that comes from the wheels. Im thinkin since the switch is electric that the 4 wheel low switch is broken. I am also wondering, is the rear-end on a ranger an 8.8 or if else what is it?? Any suggestions?

Ok your 4x4 works it just doesn't go into LOW. Make sure your stopped and hitting the brakes when up put it in or it won't go in. Also not all rangers have an 8.8, some have a 7.5 to.

need to be in neutral and have the brake pedal smashed to get it in LOW. make sure its already engaged in 4 High first.

^^^^^^that and wait about 5 seconds until the light that says "4WD Low" comes on. Usually you'll hear a click, click as it's switching

im thinkn its the electric switch on the transfer case, so im gonna replace it, but i can get it in once but when i try to take it out it wont go out and the lights will blink thats why im thinkn that i talked to a frod mechanic and thats what they said would prolly be the problem
