I am having problems with my Ranger shifting into OD. When I first start it up it drives perfect. All shifts are on time and nice and smooth. Once I have driven maybe 20 mi or so the trans shifts out of OD and the "OD Off" Light starts flashing. If (while moving 65-70mph) I turn the key off and then back on, OD comes back for 2-15 more miles. I can tell when its about to do to cuz the pedal feels as though it right on the threshold of kicking out of OD. Kinda like i have to push harder on the pedal to maintain the same speed. Then all of a sudden the trans kicks out of OD and the light starts flashing. I scanned the comp at one point with no luck, However, I had already reset the comp by turning key off and then back on a sec later like I explained earlier. I am going to try and scan it again today without resetting it and see what happens.
Anyone else run into a similar prob??? Help PLZ!!!

Well, we scanned the comp and found 4 codes. One was a evap leak which I knew of, one was a bullshoit code saying that it needed ran more and the other two were trans codes. P0741 Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Performance or Stuck Off. There was another code but i can remember what it was. the code reader say the say thing as the P0741, Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Performance or Stuck Off. I'll do a lil more reserch and see what I can dig up. I just found a thread on a Ford Explorer and Ranger Enthusiast Forums - Serious Explorations just incase anyone else is looking for some info.
