Is this an acceptable way of pushing down springs to remove snap ring for rebuild?

Edit: I realized after posting this that I can just put the springs together before I even put the frictions, however my question still remains whether that it's okay or will this affect it if it's not even out.

These are C- Clamps and I have a a couple more that I will add so that it gets pushed down more evenly. Is this ok or will it somehow cause damage. None of the tips of the clamp are touching the friction discs or steels. For a 4r44e
