auto trans compatability

Will a 5spd auto out of an 03 swap right in to an 05? Any diff between reg cab and extended cab models? I have the opportunity to pick up an auto from an 03 and would like to build it up for my 05.

Forgot to mention that the trans is coming out of a 4.0 and going in to my 3.0....will that work?

3.0 has a unique bell housing, meaning you need a 3.0 only trans.

Electronics changed in 04 along with wiring. I do not know if this effected the transmission.

Your best bet will be an 04+ trans for a 3.0.
