Automatic to manual trans swap,02 model. 3.0 litre engine

I have already swapped all over to the manual. I have not changed computer and wiring. Truck starts runs accelerates smoothly, however it will not climb above 3000 rpms,on the engine. How can I trick the computer to believe the automatic is still there? To bypass the Rev limiter?

Replace or swap the ECM. Its looking for sensor inputs from the transmission that are no longer there.

How did you get the starter motor to work?

Signal for that goes thru the DTR(digital transmission range) sensor, so you must have by passed it?

You need to do the same by pass on the DTR, so computer "thinks" transmission is in D-Drive.

There is no way to simulate automatic trans, so CEL(check engine light) will stay on all the time.
You can send the Computer out to a programmer and they can remove the auto software from it, also give it a better tune for manual trans use

I left the shift position sensor in neutral. And the starter worked.

yes I just saw it. Ty. So if I can put that shift position sensor from neutral to the drive position it should "fix"it?

Yes, but starter may not work then

You need to read the wiring diagram I posted
