Broken pinion shaft

I have a 2wd 2000 ranger 2.5l. I snapped the pinion shaft right where the locking bolt goes through. The shaft goes through so far, but stops when it hit's the large gear. How do I pull it out? As you can tell I don't know alot about working on this and I have a small budget.

Did you break the bolt or shaft, never heard of that happening , bolt can be removed and new one put in

Post a picture of what you are talking about. In this instance.. I highly recommend you watch youtube. There are a lot of step-by-step videos on how to work on the rear axle.

Yes it's the shaft where the pin runs through it. Do I have to pull this whole thing apart to remove it?

From all the videos I watched that's how I found out about the shaft not clearing the large gear on 7.5 rear ends
