clutch wont engage

so the clutch lever was a little squishy on my 96 ranger(2.3l), me and a buddy bled the filthy fluid out, everything back to almost normal. a few days later, the pedal gets little sticky, and for about 3 seconds, doesnt want to return to normal position, the snap, of we go. about 10 minutes later, the same thing happens, except for no snap back into position. something somehow seems to be either keeping the actuator engaged, or managed to get in there and keep the disks from engaging. there is plenty or resistance from the pedal, i would say too much, i bled some fluid out of the slave, still no go. and ideas, short of a full replacement?
thanks
billy

this is the original problem my truck had when i first laid eyes on it 2 years ago. turned out to be a bad slave cylinder.
