convert to manual transmission

What year manual transmission will bolt up to the 2.5 4 cylinder engine in my 98 ranger?

If 2WD, then a 1988 to 2001 M5OD-R1(M5R1) from a 2.3l or 2.5l Ranger, NOT from a 2001 2.3l

M5R1 5-speed manual trans uses an integrated bell housing, not detachable, like older manuals
You have a 2.5l Lima SOHC engine
It was also used as a 2.3l Model in Rangers 1983 to 1997, so same block and bell housing pattern
The 2wd 2.3l got the M5R1 in 1988 and up

2001, and up, 2.3l Is a DOHC Duratec, so different pattern
