if anyone ever has this question again, do this:

install gears, get in truck, start truck, put in 4wd, put in drive (or reverse depending upon orientation), slam on the gas.

come back with the results...

From: Coal Region, MTC to be exact...heart of the coal region.
the front and rear axler ratio must be within .02-.05 of each other (i dont know how to put it technically...

for example, dana 44s can use a 4.09 while a ford 8.8 can use a 4.10 or 9" ford with a 4.11...

if not the torque multipplication on a hard surface will cause binding in the t-case and BOOM...same rule applies to running mis-match sized (height) tires front and rear like 35s in the rear and 33s in the front. if on soft ground like sand or mud u may be able to get away with it for a short time but as soon as there is some binding in the transfer case.

BUT, and its a very big BUT, if u run 3:54s in front (as said dana 44) and 4:10s in the rear (as said ford 8.8) with a 31" tire up front and 35" tire in the rear u will be "OK"...i dont recommend it but u can get away with it...
