Front Driveshaft
3 miles after installing the 'new' front shaft.......hello bindage! hell of a waste of $40 to get me by. I'm gonna try and return it. lol.
I pick up my shortend shaft here in a few hours. Expect pics in the morning.
OH....
something that also dawned on me...
WHY THE HECK is the front shaft yoke/flange/socket pile angled upward??? I wonder if shimming the trans up higher using washers on the trans mount would help the issue of blowing up the stock shaft? I know i'd change the angle of the rear output flange angle.... Or maybe my trans mount is warn down? idk.

I know Shane has two stockers in our shop right now, but on the diff side it ends with just the u-joint. Don't think that is the yoke, but i am not sure.
Ah i got yeah. well, i know he has two in our shop so I am sure he'll get back to you (i *think* both have bad CVs at the t-case end). But yeah, I am sure he'll be on here in the morning when he gets home from work.
Matt, yes sir I have 2 shaft's 1 that is destroyed on the tcase end (see my other post) and one that is still in good shape that is my backup. I'm taking my new shaft down to the shop today, so they can chop and balane it after I get off work
HAHAHA. i've been sorta busy and outta town...wanted it installed before i head out. on with the proof that i beat Eric in this race...lol
Installed it on i think Fri afternoon? The biggest pain was that i'm cool and didnt want to jack the front end up....so to get proper orientation of the rear adaptor and the front joint...the adaptor needed mounted to the case then then front joint mounted...made for tightening the adaptor to the rear joint kinda of a pain in the butt...but easily cured using an ingenious set of tools...lol. Cut up one of my 1/4" socket adaptors for my cordless drill, then used a 1/4" combo to tighten the adaptor to ujoint bolts. Also everything are all allen now too....front D35 bolts for the straps are 1/4-28 x 5/8 i believe. Found out the case threads are M8, front diff is 1/4-28 and the cardon joint threads are 1/4-28 as well. lol.
Been using 4wd when i need it which isn't much right now since i love love love playing in the snow in 2wd...i swear...throw her in 3rd and dump the clutch and play! lol.
on with the pics...

Nice dude! You should have painted it Blitz Black as it adds 20hp+ and makes the driveshaft stonger...
I have like 8in+ ontop of my ranger. And Shane, the gravel is all iced over lol. Nothing for my 2wd. Can you say 4wd conversion?

it's so nice to have that front axle pulling again!! stock shaft took a dump in like august. lol. time to go play. oh....already did some snow donuts in Seatown. lol.
yeah grant...i was pretty impressed with your pain in the butt parking spot in the driveway when i installed this shaft. thanks for that. lol. grant.....solid axle swap on the 4banger??? hmm.......i do have that D44 sitting out back.....
HAHAHA well, thanks to you and your 'ruts' you made because you have no p-brake, i got stuck in the gravel in my normal spot. i had no reference to park, so whatever stop complaining.
And yeah, lowered 4wd solid axle. I am down......jk

UNCLE UNCLE UNCLE...LMAO alright ya beat me (even though I didn't know we were racing)
Well I dropped mine off at Rock and Roll Offroad
www.rockandrolloffroad.com
I won't get my driveshaft back until probabley after Christmas. Which is cool...Shane we measure 27 1/2 from center ujoint to center ujoint.....what did your're driveshaft come out to in length?
Mine doesn't get shipped out to Cali until tomorrow, and it takes 3-4 days to get there, so that puts it around xmas, so it hopefully will be on before New Years...
Got to see these trucks though:

Anway I'll keep ya'll posted
