I'm fairly new to the ranger. It’s been fun so far, with not many problems. But recently, I’ve been hearing a shuttering rattle under my truck somewhere. After installing new shocks, I noticed this mystery cable is loose pretty much all over. Thing is, it doesn’t look stock. If anyone has any idea let me know! It’s not the parking brake line. Maybe some kinda of theft deterrent? It’s on the passenger side of the driveshaft, near the end.
Driveline disconnect so the truck can be flat towed behind an RV.
Gotcha! There’s a **** on the floorboard of the Cab, I’m assuming that’s for the use of that. Have you seen of any ways to get rid of the rattle? You can tell the previous owners used some wire on it to stop it I’m assuming. I’ve looked all over for part numbers and help in general on this problem.
I'd check for any obvious looseness. Consider strategic padding with a stout, closed cell plastic foam.
You'll likely have notice before you'd need to use that feature so you'd have time to remove it.

Honestly I don’t think I’ll ever use the feature. I’d just take it all off if I could, but the simpler way to do things is add some kind of makeshift bushings with the foam, great idea!
