Leaking Hurst Shifter - Problem Solved
I finally got tired of my shifter leaking and decided to call Hurst. I ask the man I was speaking to if they new of this problem in rangers and if they had a revised seal to stop this problem. He responded, yes and he took my info. and said he would send it to me. No questions asked, for FREE! ![Rock[1]](https://www.ranger-forums.com/rf/forum2/images/smilies/rock[1].gif)
Here's what it looks like:

I have yet to install it so I will see how it goes. I hope this will help a lot of people with this problem out.

You know, I didnt really have a leaking problem in the cab, it started leaking on the outside when I sold the truck. But I did have a problem with the actual shifter piece that attaches to the shift linkage -it would keep coming loose resulting in a sloppy shifter feeling (worse than stock! LOL). Even red rated loctite wouldnt hold that sucker in.

I installed this seal a week ago and I don't feel that it is going to fix the problem completely, maybe for a while. racsan probably has the right idea making his own.
RRF901 I don't have the guys name I talked to. I just called the hurst tech service line 216-688-8300 Ext.500

p.s. Thanks for the #
RRF901, Since it has been installed it seems to be holding up fine, I will be keeping an I on it. If I have to re-seal it again I am just going to make my own gasket out of gasket paper and use some silicon on it or drill a vent hole in the lower mounting plate.
