is limited slip common
is limited slip common
OK so I have a 99 Ford Ranger with the 4.0 and I have fell in love with the truck! The other day I was backing into my friends side drive way and you have to drive over the side walk when my front tires hit I spun the back tires a little and I noticed that there was 2 marks (like limited slip) but I didn't think they came stock with limited slip?? I didn't buy the truck new so I'm not sure if someone did this before I bought the truck or if it is something that is stock?
The small doors are not "legally" considered doors... They are extensions to the other doors..( at least that's how my insurance idiot explained it).. It is a 2 door.
If it was like the sporttrack and actually had handles etc...they would be written up as 4 doors..
I know sounds weird.. but the world has to catch up to the technology.

I will have to look at mine but it tells me it is an 8.8, L/S, with 4.10 gears.
Your's, if there will do the same.
OK I looked at the door code and it says its a 95 but I have spun the tires in dirt and on the pavement and still getting 2 tracks like it was limited slip and I have never seen a open rear end do that !
Sometimes, an open diff. will spin both tires. Mine does it at times, and it's even done it when I've done burnouts. The second I run the truck through mud and come close to getting stuck, though, it only spins one tire. :-/
not even all the 4x4 off-road packages came with one. my first truck (red one in avatar) had a LS from factory and the green pos i bought had an open diff. New truck has an open diff but it wont for too long lol
x3. My truck is a 2wd and if I drop the clutch on pavement i get two wheels burnin.
