Manual to Auto Tranny swap...

Thinking of trying to tackle a manual to auto transmission swap in my 02 Supercab 4x4 4.0. I have seen some threads on sucessful Auto to Manual swaps, but not the opposite.

I understand I will need the Auto Tranny, PCM & Wiring harness to go with it, Pedal Assy, Steering Column & Shifter Assy. What am I missing? And please let me know if I'm crazy for even thinking of doing this...I think if I found a truck at a salvage yard that I could pull this stuff from it wouldn't be too bad.

What do you all think?

Trans cooler.

Auto radiator.

Trans lines.

Torque convertor.

Shift cable.

Starter.

floor plate.

cupholders/cubby holder floor thingy.

you'll probably need a complete steering column from an auto truck.

all associated wiring with pigtails and sensors for the trans.

If it were me, i'd do a B&M or Hurst floor shifter to bypass all the column BS.

That's just a short list of what it'd be. I'm sure there's a bunch of junk to get it working.

If you're going this way... Honestly... Sell the truck and get a new one with tranny in it. It was a pain pulling all the auto parts. There's like 10 different parts inside the truck that are extremely hard to get to.

But hey if you wanna go for it. Shane and I have about 40 hours into my swap counting misc times spent here and there on the swap from auto to manual. Time also depends on what you know about swaps and who you have help you with it.

40? thought it was like 14 + time to pull parts from donor truck?

Time spent here and there for parts runs, pulling donor parts, etc.... Stuff like that... Totaled around 40. I have about 24+ hours and you had about 13-14... You know how it goes lol
