Manual shifting problem
Manual shifting problem
I have a problem shifting into gear. If the truck is rolling is shifts fine. If I come to a stop, release the clutch while in neutral, then press the clutch down and try to put it into gear, its really stiff and sometimes I can barely get it into gear, especially 1st or reverse.
I bled out the clutch and it is not any better at all, what else should I look for?

Probably your slave most likely.. I had mine going out on me and it was a devil when the tranny was warmed up on the highway - and then you get stuck in stop and go.. woudl have to try getting it into first and hit about 4000 rpms before it would pop into second.
Sometimes I can get it into second, but usually I have to put it into third or fourth, then work my ways down the gears, with the clutch in. Its really a pain.
If this helps in diagnosing, when I'm stopped, clutch in, and try to put it in gear, I can feel the truck creep foreward, almost like the clutch isn't disengaging.
If it is the slave, has anyone installed their own? How hard is it to do?

I'm going to have to say slave cylinder to. It has gone out 3 times in the 4 years that I have owned my truck. Its not fun when you start your truck in the morning and it jumps forward when you are half asleep.
