Sure hope you have solved your shifting problems. I am having the same type of problems with my 2000 ranger 2.5. I couldn't put into gear unless I turned off the engine and then put it in gear. Start it up in that gear and it would move but could not shift. Changed out the clutch, master cylinder and slave cylinder. Still doing the same thing. Tried several times to bleed the cylinder with no luck. Get the thing as if I had a pedal then start the engine and try to change gears and no more pedal. It has been awhile since you had posted this thread and hoping that you might have an answer you can help me out with. Thanks so much for any help you might have.

Remove the master cylinder and bench bleed it.
The way it mounts in the truck makes it impossible to remove all the air from it.
There are many threads on this as it comes up at least once a week.
